President's Message
Thank you for the opportunity to serve you as President of our State Association. It is with much gratitude and humility that I accept this responsibility. The County Judges and Commissioners Association of Texas has a long standing commitment of working closely with our members and being united in our beliefs as it relates to good county policies. So let us continue this commitment for the betterment of County Government.
As we begin 2012, let us prepare for what continues to be another challenging year. Although the economic condition of our state has seen some improvement, some areas better than others, we continue to see more and more services requested and needed at the local level. With that comes stressed budgets and cries for controlled and lower taxes. For this reason we must continue to be involved, active and let our voices be heard at the State Capitol. A united front was engaged this past year with good results, but we must continue our fight against unfunded mandates and other bad policies attempted at county government.
We have great and dedicated leaders in our organization and please know you can call on us at any time. One such leader is Jim Allison, our General Counsel, who continues to do an outstanding job representing our needs as County Judges and Commissioners, but we need you. You have stepped up when called upon and we ask that you continue to be ready and available because united; we can accomplish much.
You are appreciated and you do make a difference!
As a reminder, our annual conference will be held in San Marcos on October 1-4, 2012 at the Embassy Suites – Hotel, Spa and Conference Center. We are diligently working to bring you a great conference with quality educational opportunities and plenty of great food, fellowship and fun. We hope to see you there!
Thank you for your service and God Bless this Great State of Texas,
Debbie Gonzales Ingalsbe
